The Nine Pound Shammers are a combination of pickers from a number of Melbourne bands brought together through many a night of picking classic bluegrass tunes together. From the likes of The Knott Family Band, The Burning Bridges, Roadside Holiday and Front Porch - these five pickers will unite for a special one-off performance to play a collection of their favourite songs. With Elwood Sze (banjo), Maxine Sutcliffe (double bass), Tanya Bradley (fiddle), Thomas Kendall (guitar) and Vinny Russell (mandolin) and a few extra cameos on the day, it's sure to be a great afternoon of Bluegrass. If nothing else, they'll do their best to answer the age old bluegrass question (as immortalised in the classic tune Nine Pound Hammer) "How can I roll, when the wheels won't roll?"
