GRACE TURNER - Beer Garden at 3pm
Grace Turner writes abstract confessional pieces. They give the feeling of stream of thought however at the same time are very to the point in her observations of the self, nature and life.
They are catchy and unique in the same breath.
Turners most recently released Single 'Angry' has been gaining her all the right attention, receiving airplay across the country (most notably Triple J). She has been described as "haunting, hypnotic and immediately captivating” - Obscure Sound. “Turner has found the delicate balance between melancholy and hope. She is definitely a rare find.” - Ear To The Ground.
NITIDA - Beer Garden at 4pm
Mmmm… Smells like Jazz, crackles like Pop, but tastes like soul? Whatever! Just eat it up, it’s good for you, especially when Zoe ‘Babetown’ Frater has anything to do with it. We will be playing songs from my yet-to-be-released debut album. Free and 4 in the arvo, a beer gardeners delight!
ALISTER TURRILL - Front Bar at 5pm
“Alister is a songwriter of the highest order and a sign that the future of Australian blues is in good hands.” - Lloyd Spiegel, Premier Endorsee Cole Clark Guitars.
It would be a generalisation to group Queenscliff’s Alister Turrill with other young roots players. His playing style blends a true form of blues with complex song writing seldom seen.
He’s shared the stage with Jeff Lang, Geoff Achison and Lloyd Spiegel on several occasions and has supported the likes of Charlie Parr (US), Tim Rogers, Ash Grunwald, Kim Churchill, Steve Smyth, Tim Freedman and Shane Howard.
The past twelve months have seen the new Melbourne resident at his busiest and best yet with his first East Coast Tour (including a well-received slot on the Roaming Buskers Stage at Byron Bay Bluesfest 2017) and first European shows.
Following his award winning 2013 debut album 'Reverence & Resonance, and 2015 single release 'Road To The Grave', Alister has released a brand new EP, 'A Toast To Better Times'.
A stripped-back modern folk/country-blues record where the quality of his songwriting is bared for all.
Honest, Flawed, Gravel-Throated Folkin' Blues awaits.
