Hector Harley is a Melbourne-based tenor saxophonist who specialises in improvisatory music of both the American and Australian traditions. A recipient of the Marion Thomas Award for excellence in 2018, Hector has recently completed his honours in Jazz Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts. This trio, comprised of saxophonist Hector Harley, drummer Luke Andreson and double bassist Robbie Finch, perform works from the American Songbook in a trio format exploring the boundaries and artistic limitations of a chordless group within the genre of bop, post-bop, and cool jazz.
