The atmospheric music of A Man Called Son is grounded in a particular brand of Australian isolationism, evoking long summer days and achingly resonant tales of small town misfortune. At the height of the pandemic, while the rest of us just went mad, Multi-instrumentalist and producer Simon Pearlman took a few recent backing tracks and bunkered down to put the finishing touches to the much anticipated fourth AMCS album, ‘Timebombs in the Sea”, finally reaching Melbourne ears as the live scene returned last year. After touring the album locally with the band, Simon is now playing raw, expensive solo sets across Victoria and beyond. And there's plenty more songs to come!
