WASTELANDS is a new initiative by Melbourne-based guitarist and composer
Harry Tinney. The group draws from a broad range of influences, including
Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters, Meshell Ndegeocello and Radiohead, while
paying tribute to the jazz lineage. There is a distinct emphasis on the
relationship between melody and rhythm, and preserving simplicity within new
song forms. Listeners can expect improvisation, dynamic interplay and a keen
sense of embracing the unknown.
